17 Weeks

Another week has come and gone:)

This week went well, nothing too exciting to note. Except that my jeans no longer can button:( I just found this out last night. I threw on a pair that I haven't worn all summer and we went out to dinner. When I sat down they were too tight. I had to unbutton them and today I am using a hair tie to keep them together. I am sure I will have to pull out my bella band soon. BUT, this means that the baby is growing:)

AND less than 3 weeks until the ultrasound! And one week until Iowa Football!! I love that we are blessed with season tickets! The games are so much fun and it is one of the only sports-related thing that I actually look forward to.

I am just waiting until I get to fell the baby move, soon I hope! That will definitely be a reassuring feeling and maybe actually make the baby real to me.

Tonight we are going to Rachel and Brian's to hang out, should be fun. I love getting out of the house! After being home most afternoons and nights during the week, on the weekends I am really to not be bored. I need to enjoy this while it lasts! This morning while were were just laying in bed talking after sleeping in, I thought about how I need to enjoy this time because we won't have it again for a LONG time. I am learning to cherish these moments and truly enjoy us. Although it will be great to have a little baby cuddling with us:)

I am loving this fall weather that we are having, jeans and sweatshirts are my favorite. But, I am sad that summer is leaving us and I hope winter stays awhile for a long long time.

Well, enjoy your Saturday and Sunday!! Tomorrow our church is celebrating its one year ,so we get to have a party! I have 2 Costco cakes sitting in my frig right now and it is killing me that I have to wait until tomorrow to eat them. Self-control Liz!

16 Weeks!

Well, time is just flying by! I had my 16 week doctor's appointment yesterday and everything is still going smoothly. No issues or complications and the baby's heartbeat is still going strong:) Less than one month until our big ultrasound and hopefully getting to find out the gender! I can't wait! I have been pretty patient, but the closer it gets the harder it is to wait.

I have gotten some more energy, but I still like my naps! I have started sleeping horribly this week:( Just up tossing and turning a lot. I think I need to invest in a body pillow, but I hate spending the money. But, I believe it will be worth it. Now I just need to work on gaining some more weight, but I have plenty of time right?? I am still under my normal weight, but I feel like I eat a lot. Maybe it is more I eat a little but multiple times a day. I just get so full so fast!

Life hasn't been very eventful recently. We did go to the State Fair, which is always fun! I just wish I had a bigger stomach and more money to eat all the bad food! We are going to eat dinner there tonight with my Mom's side of the family, so more food for me and baby! Talk about healthy!

I am just happy it is Friday and we really don't have plans this weekend, LAZY!

So you probably can't really see my little bump, but I can definitely tell! My flat stomach is no longer, which is just fine with me! But, I do want it t get a little bigger so I look pregnant and not fat:)

The News:)

Well, the reason that I haven't been able to blog about what has been going on in our life recently is because

I AM PREGNANT!!

I am due on February 5, so I am currently 14 weeks along. We found out on May 31 and Derek said I couldn't tell anyone until 12 weeks. Of course I didn't listen that well. Oops. Although I held back from blogging and Facebook, but all the people close in my life found out. Derek was able to keep his mouth shut though. I just couldn't hold my excitement in! Derek is a better liar than I am I guess:) Just kidding!!

I will never forget the feeling when Derek told me that the test had 2 lines. The second line showed up almost immediately. I just hugged Derek and didn't really believe it for awhile.

I felt pretty well throughout my first trimester, but EXTREMELY tired. I have always loved sleep, but never been this tired. But, I will definitely take that over being sick. I did get a little nauseous, but nothing too bad. Now I am just going to sit back and see if I ever get that second trimester energy burst. Time will tell.

I have had 2 doctor appointments and we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time at my 12 week appt. Such a glorious sound, it was 160 bpm.

We are going to find out the sex, I just want to be able to plan and such. It will be a surprise no matter what! We have the 20 week ultrasound on Sept. 18, which will be here before we know it. We just want a healthy baby, but of course Derek is hoping for a certain sex. I suppose you all can guess it:)

I am not really showing yet, every once in awhile I look like I have a little bump. I figure since I am tall and have a long torso, I have some time before I really show. Which means I can stay in my normal clothes for now. So, no belly pictures yet.

We are just both super excited and so thankful for the little life that the Lord has blessed us with. It still blows my mind that I have a little life inside of me. How amazing is our Lord that he can knit a human being in me? CRAZY!

BAD...

Well, I am a HORRIBLE blogger. BUT, I have an excuse! BUT, I can't tell you yet and that is my husband's fault.

I promise that I will write an update on Saturday. Even if Derek doesn't approve!
