30 Weeks!

I can hardly believe that I am 30 weeks! That much closer to 40 weeks. Time feels like it is moving faster, but I don't want to say that!

I can't believe it is almost December! Thanksgiving was good. One down one to go! We spent the day with Derek's extended family yesterday at his aunt and uncle's in Wilton, IA. Always fun to see family and catch up! And of course eat good food! I ate way too much dessert, but it was Thanksgiving. So, that is a free day, right?

Today has just been lounge day with family and nap time! Very relaxing, much needed. Tomorrow we head to Indianola for the my family's Thanksgiving. I have been crazing my mom's stuffing, I told her to make me my own pan:)

I have so much to be thankful for this year. My Savior, my amazing husband, the little man growing in my belly, a healthy pregnancy, family, my job, my health and just life in general.

I had my appt. on Wednesday and everything is still looking good. Measuring right at 30 weeks and his heartbeat was 150. Higher than last time, but it took her forever to pick it up for more than a few seconds because he was moving around so much. Didn't want to cooperate! He is kicking me more and more and letting me know he is boss. He is starting to wake me up at night, no fun! That is suppose to happen later on! I am getting more and more uncomfortable sleeping, stupid hips! And to think that I potential have 10+ weeks to go is depressing. I just need to stay positive!

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Baby Shower

We played a game where everyone was given a hard boiled egg to be their 'baby' for the shower. The winner was the person whose egg was still in their possession and intact at the end. My cousin's 7 year old son decorated each one, he made mine a Hawkeye. Rachel later stole it while I was opening gifts. Meanie!

Rachel doing a devotion.

29 weeks!

My face:)

Lots to catch you up on!

Last Sunday afternoon I had my first baby shower. It was at my aunt's house and Rachel and April did a great job planning it. I had lots of fun with family and friends and they sure did bless the little guy. Lots of fun gifts and books. Makes me excited:) Rachel hasn't given me the pictures yet, so blame her for no pictures.

I had my 3 hour glucose tolerance test on Monday morning at 7 am. It was torture! Well, probably not that bad... Getting 1 vial of blood drawn every hour is not fun. Had some nice bruises after that! It was just not fun drinking 100g of sugar and not having any food in your stomach and I couldn't drink anything. I survived and passed all 3 times:) That was a blessing and a relief. Hope I don't have to do that again.

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. Had our second childbirth class, helped Nepali refugees on Wednesday night for small group. We made kits of winter attire for them, they have no winter clothes. Going to make for a cold Iowa winter. Derek got new tires on Thursday, so we had fun roaming Costco and the mall waiting. No more illegal tire tread for him!

Friday I was off and for the first time in a long time had no plans for the day. I slept in a bit and watched some of my shows from the week. Then I decided to put up the Christmas tree and some other stuff. I decided that if I was going to make the effort to do it, I wanted to be able to enjoy it for a little over a month!

AND THEN NEW MOON! My mom, Rachel and I had tickets for the 7:00 show and we had fun waiting in line for about 45 minutes for it. It did not fail to impress. Now the waiting game begins for the next one....

Saturday Derek left me to go to the Iowa game, I got the boot. I watched the game with Rachel and Brian and then hung out with them all afternoon. Iowa won, but it was the most boring football game ever! Glad I didn't go. We had dinner at Mimi's Cafe with Rachel, Brian and Brian's brother Matt. Then watched a movie and went to bed.

Today has been church, nap and lunch. Now football:) I will probably try to steal the remote soon....

The little guy is doing well, moving lots. With the holidays here, it makes me wish I was celebrating them with him. But, I am sure I need to sit back and just enjoy them one last time before I have a child to worry about. Trying to take advantage of all that I can while it is just Derek and me. Things are about to change:)

I am so happy it is Thanksgiving week! Lots of family and food, makes this preggo happy:) We have Derek's family dinner on Thursday in Wilton and my family's on Saturday. Love getting to have two.

Happy Thanksgiving:)

Week 28, Third Trimester:)

Adios 2nd trimester, Hello 3rd!

I had my 28 week doctors appt. Friday morning, which included my glucose tolerance test. And guess what? I failed it! Oh joy:) I was bummed, but got over it quickly. Life could be much worse. I have do my 3 hour, which is really a 4 hour test on Monday morning at 7 am. I don't get up at 7 am. BOO! I am praying that I pass that because I don't want to have to deal with gestational diabetes. BUT, I would because I would do anything for this boy. I am eating healthy all weekend hoping that might help! HA! So, pray that I pass this darn test with flying colors!!

I am measuring at 29 weeks and his heartbeat was 129. I still love listening to his heartbeat, such a glorious sound:)

Friday night we had Lane, Josie and Dukey spend the night. It was fun, but boy did it wear me out. I didn't get as much sleep as I required and today has been hard keeping my eyes open. I needed a nap and I didn't get one. Early to bed, probably soon! We just hung out at our house and loved on them. Makes me excited to have our baby:) I rocked Dukey in the nursery and it just felt good. Come on Feb. or late January!!

I went to lunch with my Mom, Rachel and Aunt Jan today at Cheesecake Factory. Yummy. Then shopped a little with them, spent no money. It is depressing going in 'normal' clothes stores knowing that I can't buy anything. I wouldn't trade this belly though. My mom keeps asking what I want for Christmas. No easy answer of clothes this year. And I don't think saying baby stuff will fly for all of it. I need to do some brainstorming in that dept. How about a new car? I know you are reading this Daddy:)

Then I went to Rachel and Brian's to watch the Hawkeye game. I told myself going into it to not get my hopes up. I was fine until they came back to tie the game at 24 and I got all excited. Only to then get mad. Emotional roller coaster that I can't handle anymore. 11 games have done me in. Might just have to not watch next week. This preggo can't handle the stress. Sad night at the Mueller's tonight.

Now I am just trying to keep my eyes open, but I might just have to go to bed before 9 on a Saturday night. I am an exciting person let me tell you:)

People keep telling me how small my belly is for being 7 months. I will take that. Rather that than have them saying I am huge. Long torso=lots of room for the little guy to spread out. We will see how I look/feel in January.

I will try to take pictures at my shower tomorrow. Maybe ones with my head in them! Every time we take my belly pictures it is night time and I don't look so good anymore! Love hormones and what they have done to my face. I once had super oily skin and now it is just dry and splotchy. YUCKY!

Kinda crazy that I am going to a baby shower for me. Might take some getting used to, I hate being the center of attention. I need the baby here for everyone to focus on. Maybe I should bring Derek along to do everything:)

All I have left to say is that Iowa better beat Minnesota with a score like last year!!!

Life...

We started our childbirth class last night. It wasn't too bad, I didn't really learn anything new. Derek definitely did, as he is starting with zero knowledge. Poor guy, lots to learn!! Good thing he will be great:) The hardest part of the night for him was learning how to massage my hand. Ask him to teach you the 'hand hug." Too funny. It made me excited to give birth, but I am sure I won't always have that feeling. Makes me wish I was 38 weeks this Friday and not 28. Oh well, I need to sit back, or lay back, and just enjoy this time. We need our little guy to grow, grow, grow!!

I am going to see RENT tonight and I am super excited. I love musicals, just hope I can hold that pee in:) Hopefully I can stay awake. I have been trying not to nap too much in the afternoons after work because I can't fall asleep at night. Well, yesterday at 2 I was SO tired that I took a nap for about an hour. I definitely laid in bed for over an hour last night trying to fall asleep. Not fun. No more naps, unless I can take them earlier in the day. My perfect situation would be if I could just sleep in every morning, say 10. Then I would be good to go:) If only!!

Derek's parents are staying with us this week. It is nice having someone else do the cooking:) I could get use to this.

Happy Wednesday! Getting closer and closer to the weekend!

27 Weeks

Another week has come and gone. I feel like time is going slow, yet it seems like to go fast. I just don't know what to think!

I do know that I am not going to mention the Hawkeyes in this post:( SAD DAY!!! But, at least the weather was beautiful for the game. Thank you Lord for the sunshine and warmth the past few days. I wish they never had to leave us.

Life is going well. I am really tired tonight, needed to take a nap today, but I was busy. After church we went to lunch with a bunch of people, love our church and community:) Then came home and started laundry. I did 3 loads today, yucky. Then I did a little touch up in the baby's room and arranged the furniture. Cleaned the closet in our guestroom. Derek's parents are staying with us 4 days this week. Their house is getting remodeled and they have to be off the hardwood floors this week. I decided to move all my clothes in that closet to the basement. Luckily, I have a husband to help with lifting stuff.

I did a bunch of other little stuff and now I think I will ask the hubby for a back rub:) After we go and finish registering at Target. I have my first shower next Sunday! Crazy how time is flying. Less than one week until I am 7 months! Come one February!!

I am still feeling good, getting some leg cramps and back aches. That is to be expected though. What fun the next 2 1/2 - 3 months will be:) He is an active little guy and I love laying on the couch and watching him move and feeling him on the outside.

Derek's birthday week was fun. Lots of family time, which is always nice. And I got to eat cake, doesn't get better than that!

That is all my brain can handle.

Only 18 days until Thanksgiving!!!

26 weeks!

Another weekend is nearing its end:(
Why do they have to always go so fast?
Can you believe it is already November? CRAZY!

Friday I babysat in Indianola and then had dinner and hung out with my parents. Derek had to work late and then he went and hung out with his parents and sister.

Saturday we headed to Iowa City for the Hawks game. We came away with the win, but boy was it ugly. I did not like the first 3 quarters and was not a happy camper at the beginning. But, the 4th quarter was great:)

We hung out with some friends last night and came home and I crashed. And then I woke up at 7 am (8 am the old time). I tried so hard to go back to sleep, but no luck. So, I was a tired girl today and took a nap this afternoon. Church was great and we had our monthly potluck lunch. I love our church:)

Derek did the second coat in the baby's room today, so we are done with painting! YIPPEE! Now we are just being lazy.

Tuesday is Derek's 27th birthday! He doesn't seem that old! We will have lots of celebrating to do this week! Unfortunately our birthing class starts on Tuesday, so that is his birthday present:)
Happy Birthday baby!! Hopefully you have around 60+ more birthdays to come:)

Yesterday the little man started kicking me in the bladder and boy is that uncomfortable. When we were walking to Kinnick, I had to stop a few times to make sure I didn't actually pee my pants. Oh the joys of being pregnant!

Other than that, things are going well. Uneventful like we want!

Here are the pictures! My shirt looks a little short!
