God is SO good!!

Well, we are already in the middle of another week! Crazy! Memorial day weekend was fun. Friday, I babysat in the morning, I just wish I could steal those kiddos and bring them home with me. Derek got off early which was nice. He went for a long run in the HOT weather and I helped Rach frost some cupcakes for Joan's surprise 60th birthday party! Then we

Saturday I went to my cousins fiancee's bridal shower in Indianola, they are getting married in Chicago in July. Derek golfed with his Dad and then we just laid around until we headed over to Derek's sister Christina's house for a little party. They even had a mechanical bull and no I didn't get on it! It rained a little, which was a bummer. We went back to his parents and played some cards.

Sunday was church and laundry and then Indianola. Derek got a much needed hair cut and we hung out with Josie and Easton for awhile so their mommy could paint. Then we headed to Babyar's for Joan's party. It was a good time of catching up and just chatting.

Monday was an ugly day, boo!! We went over to an old coworker's house of Derek's for a BBQ. It was fun and we had some yummy food. Then Lyndsey came over and spend the evening at our house. We played pool, watched tv, made homemade ice cream and played Rummikub. Derek of course won:)

Tuesday came and Derek went back to work and I did too:) Well, not back to work, but to work! God's timing is so perfect. I started a part time job at our church as a ministry assistant this week. I am pumped!! I work 9-2 Mon-Thurs. The way it fell into place is God's handiwork and I am so blessed. I was looking for a way to get more involved/connected and God just dropped it in my lap. The men of this church are amazing and fun to work with, it doesn't even feel like work. Thank you Lord:)

I am getting really excited for this weekend for several reasons. First, we have Easton or Duke ALL weekend!! I am picking him up on Friday and taking him back on Sunday. Wahoo!! I don't know if I will want to give him back. Second, Derek is running Dam to Dam and it will be fun to see him finish. The past 2 years he has gotten severely dehydrated, to the point of being the medical tent the first year and walking the last 2 miles the second, yet he still has amazing times. So, this year for the past few weeks I have been making him hydrate himself and actually pee more than 2 times a day. He isn't very happy, but has been a complint patient. Thirdly, Derek's older brother and wife are coming into town so Brandon can run with Derek. Haven't seen them since January and she is preggo, so will be fun to see a cute belly!

Well, that is all for now!
Once again, NO PICTURES!! Bad Liz! I will take some of Dukey I am sure this weekend and the race!

Scratch that. Because I love my Daddy and I think he looks hot in pink and onion googles!

Bored!

That word should not be in my vocabulary. It is beautiful outside at the moment, but I feel like I am getting blown over. I sat outside for awhile reading today and I feel like a high power fan is on me. I was pretending that it was the breeze coming off the ocean:) I suppose that is what happens when there are no tall building anywhere near your house and your backyard is wide open with no trees! Boo wind!!

Anyways, I read a 328 page book yesterday. Started it at about 11:30 and was done at 12:20 and I even babysat from 1:45-5! AND I started my next knitting project, it will be the biggest one yet. It is super easy, so but time consuming, don't want to say what it is as it is a gift.

I ran yesterday with Derek's sister and I am not even sore today. But, considering that I didn't last too long, that could be why. It was hot out and my lungs and warm weather are like oil and water, don't mix well. I would rather run in the snow than in the heat. BUT, I love summer, so what to do!

Yesterday when I was babysitting, Lane, the 5 year old was complaining about the warm weather, saying how much he hates the sun and loves snow. He wishes there was snow on the ground all year round. I told him he needs to move to Antarctica and than gave me this look like he had no idea what I was talking about. I told him he was crazy and that I love the sun:) Oh to be a kid again!

One month from tomorrow we will be getting on a plane at approx. 9am to go to Hawaii:) Please come fast June 21!! Yay for parents being generous and the best:)

I should go do something productive, like cleaning. Tell me this, I love to clean, but not my own house! Why??

Random I am sure!

Well, another Monday has come and gone. Time still seems to be flying by fast. Derek is enjoying his job, but it has been pretty boring so far. Which is typical of starting a new job. It is just weird having him gone all day. I am sure I will get used to it soon. He never complains about it, he is such a great man:)

This weekend was fun, Friday we just were lazy, well after Derek ran 9.5 miles. Watched a movie on tv and went to be early. Saturday we got up at 7 and went with Derek's mom to the farmer's market downtown. It was COLD, 37 degree wind shield. But, we had fun and got some good stuff. I could spend a lot of money there! Then we headed over to the Asian Festival for about an hour, that was interesting. We grabbed some lunch and came home. I took a 2 hour nap and then we went out to dinner with some friends on Sat. night. Brian wanted to go bowling, so we did. It was 3 boys against 3 girls and the girls won:) We came back here and played Hand and Foot, a card game and girls won again!

Sunday was church and then we watched the movie Taken. I liked it, intense but good. Then we went over to Derek's parents to see his sister Lyndsey. She is home from Minnesota for a week. But I think she needs to just move home:) We hung out there the rest of the day and night. Played some card games, I lost both games:(

Today I babysat all day, it was beautiful out today!! A little windy, but at least it was warm!! Tomorrow and Wednesday it is suppose to be in the 80s! Thank you Lord!!

Well, that is all. This next weekend hopefully I will have some pictures to add. We have lots going on!

I hate titles...

  • Derek goes back to work tomorrow and I am super sad and not going to think about it anymore.
  • I ran yesterday for the first time in a long time, felt good. My legs are sore today.
  • I am cutting sweets out of my diet for the time being, 2 days down and too many to go!
  • I was going to run tonight, if it ever stops raining. Maybe the Biggest Loser Finale will motivate me:)
  • I bought 10 toothbrushes today at Costco for $11. And 4 things of shaving cream for $6.
  • I hate dandelions SO much! God, why did you create them??
  • My husband is a nerd and is sitting on the couch reading an Accounting textbook.
  • I had waffles for dinner, not very healthy, oops!
  • I want a job..... and maybe a baby:) HaHa
  • And that is all of the randomness going on in my life that I can think of.
Good Luck on finals Buddy! Come home and I will celebrate with you on being done!!! That could make one more random fact, I am thankful that I am out of college!!

Is it 7:00 yet??

Exercise...

So, for a long time I have been telling myself that I want to get back into shape. I have been yet to act on it. I am determined that this week it will begin to happen. I try to make Derek tell me I have to, but then I just don't listen. I just wish I had a running buddy because I need accountability! But, I want this body back:

I might not get it back, but something close will do:) I wish I could just go back 5 years and keep it. Oh the joys of getting older!
I just want to feel healthier and I just need to do it, no more excuses!!
So, hopefully I will do it, starting Monday!!! Wish me luck!

Buddy, this is why you should be moving home this summer to make me work out with you:)

I love my Mommy:)

Happy Mother's Day Mommy!!
Thanks for being the best Mommy and for loving me like you do. I love you so much and am so Blessed to have you in my life. Even if I don't always act like it, I look up to you so much. Thanks for all you have taught me over the past 23 years. And for loving me even when I am a brat and mean.
LOVE YOU:)

(Like my boy hair in the first picture? Good thing I have a dress on to make me a girl)

Chicago:)

Well, we had a great little getaway!!

We left on Friday morning and got into Chicago around 4 and checked into the hotel. We laid around and then went for a little walk. We ended up at Millennium Park and saw the 'bean.' It was pretty cool!

There are 2 fountains with LCD screens that have different faces on them. Then about every 5 minutes they spit water our of their mouths. Derek decided he needed to go stand under the water and that I had to take pictures. He is too funny!! So here it is:)

We took some fun pictures and then headed back to the hotel to get dressed for dinner.

We ate at an Italian restaurant, La Cantina. It was very yummy, Derek even let us get some cheesecake! My favorite!! Then we were off to Jersey Boys.

We were both thoroughly impressed by it. They had great voices and the show was very good. It brought back memories of listening to oldies music growing up. The show is about Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, they sing Sherry, Big Girls don't Cry, Walk like a man and much more. Then off to bed! I felt a cold coming on, had a fever and chills, couldn't fall asleep but was dead tired. Finally got to sleep about 12:30 and was woke up to my phone beeping. Derek had sent me a text message to wake me up, from bed! I just laughed at him.

We had breakfast and got ready for the Cubs game. On the way to the train we saw these pretty tulips.

We took the train to Wrigley field and watched the Cubbies beat the Marlins, 6 to 1. It was a great game and we had a good time. Diego even threw out the first pitch, haha!!

After I took that picture, a man came up to us and said he would take our picture and guaranteed that he would get the perfect shot in the first try. He called himself the 'Picture Man.' Too funny! He did a pretty good job.

The view from our seats, it was a pretty day. During the game we saw a ton of airplanes flying in, wish we would have counted them.

There is Diego!!

I even got a little shopping in. We ran into H&M before the Cubs game, I got a dress and a shirt. Then on the way home we stopped at the outlets in Aurora and went to Gap. I got some shorts, a jean skirt, 2 tank tops and 2 shirts. I love outlets!!

A trip to Chicago would not be complete with out a picture of Homan Ave. I remember when I was younger and first saw this sign I thought it was so cool that there was a street with my last name on it! Now we need to find a Mueller Ave:)

We had a good and uneventful drive there and back, even played some road trip games, I won:) Derek was a good driver and drove the whole way. He insists that we always take his car because it gets better gas mileage, but it is a stick and I don't trust myself driving it. So, I got to nap and relax.

It was a super fast trip, but I am glad we went. Thanks baby:)
Now for Derek's last full week off:( Having him go back to work is going to stink, but I am still praying that I will get a job this month. Only the Lord knows what His plans are!!
Have a great week:)

Good Luck Buddy with your last week, you can make it!!
